Private and corporate donations would pay to fix the state Capitol dome under a bill the House approved Tuesday, The Durango Herald reports.
House Bill 1402 passed on a 55-10 vote. It seeks at least $12 million in donations to repair the cast iron that holds up the famous golden dome.
The plan relies on “cause-related marketing,” which allows corporate donors to use the prestige of the project in their own advertising.
