Swimming-Pool Tech Vies For Dem Nomination To Succeed Tapia

STATE BILL COLORADO
A Pueblo swimming-pool technician who last year ran unsuccessfully for Pueblo City Council has joined the race to succeed Colorado Sen. Abel Tapia, a Democrat, in Senate District 3.
Eric Taylor, also a Democrat, will compete with youth advocate Angela Giron for the nomination. Tapia has endorsed Giron. Businessman Alexander Mugatu is running on the Republican side.
Nearly 50 percent of voters in the district are registered Democrats, putting it among the 11 seats that State Bill Colorado considers less than competitive or not at all competitive. Democrats hold a 21-14 majority.
State Bill has updated its Senate Election Tracker as a result of Taylor’s candidacy.
