The College Board's action is incredibly wrong. I believe that if a massacre should occur in a mandated "gun-free zone", the relatives could sue the people who declared the mandate on the basis of creating an unsafe condition.

I have two degrees from Colorado State University. I'm from Fort Collins and have lived a significant portion of my life around the Colorado State University campus.

The concealed carry system has a proven track history of working to prevent mass shootings. If you place trained, armed volunteer citizens in a population, they can very effectively supplement the local police force. With concealed carry, there are armed citizens there to respond immediately to a mass shooting incident.

It takes the police seven minutes or more to respond to an incident and that translates into a lot of lives lost in a mass shooting incident.

Mass shooters don't care about the law. Banning concealed carry only creates a consequence free environment for a mass shooter to carry out a disastrous attack.

The US Military banned the carrying of weapons by soldiers in the 1990s on military posts. This led to the Fort Hood incident where one traitorous officer was able to kill dozens of the best trained troops in the US Army. If those troops had been permitted to carry weapons, the outcome would have been very different.

To get a concealed carry permit, in almost all states, you have to pass a very thorough background check on a routine basis. You have to take classes on self defense law and how to handle a handgun. In almost all states, you have to demonstrate mastery with the exact handgun you will carry in live fire exercises. Concealed carry permit holders have crime commission rates that are far lower than the general population.

Colorado State is bowing to political correctness. It is also demonstrating a total lack of regard for proper scientific methodology.

"Feeling" something does not make it a scientific fact. If you analyze concealed carry, you'll find there's a very good reasons why sheriffs all of the United States like it.

We should all be frightend by the lack of reason. The very statement that “It really came down to two general issues: No. 1, best practices, just looking at what other universities are doing..."
When one considers the fact that the highly publicized mass shootings have consistantly occured at locations where this "best practice" of prohibiting law abiding individuals from possesing PWSDs (Personal Weapons of Self Defense) was already in place, it seems rather obvious that this practice is NOT the best. But when it comes down to elitests deciding what defines "best", there is no more dangerous combination than arrogance and ignorance. Even though the bandwagon is rolling full speed toward a rock wall, they are all for jumping on, and therby enabling more innocent people to be killed unnecessarily.
