A new poll shows appointed Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) could indeed have a difficult primary on his hands in 2010, according to The Hill newspaper. The Tarrance Group poll for the Colorado Policy Institute appears to be the first public polling on Bennet’s primary with former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff. It shows Bennet leading Romanoff 41-27.
Dan Slater of Cañon City will announce his candidacy for Colorado Attorney General on Thursday, according to The Canon City Daily Record. “I think there is a clear difference in terms of the vision that I have, and I think most Coloradans have, for the office of Attorney General, and the vision that the current Attorney General has for the office,” Slater said Friday. Slater’s firm in Cañon City specializes in personal injury, employment law, real estate, civil litigation and small business law. He unsuccessfully campaigned for the Colorado State Senate in 2002.
